# First usage: Installing the Trust1Connector

If you would like to use SimpleSign Forever Free, you need to install the Trust1Connector. This middleware is the link between your card reader and your device.

You can find the download links for the Trust1Connector in the settings menu (3 bars top right of the screen) in the Connector tab.

Choose the link that matches the operating system of your device.

If you have a Mac than please check if you have an ARM or an Intel chip. This information can be found by pressing the apple in the top left of your screen and choose the About This Mac Menu.

In this example the MacBook has an Intelchip. If you do not find the word Intel on this screen you very likely have an ARM chip.

Download the Trust1Connector. The installation procedure is similar to the SimpleSign installation. After installation return to SimpleSign, connect your card reader and insert your eID.
